Introduction to All Beverages


Beverages are an important part of any meal, and they offer us a great
chance to upsell our products and increase sales.
The quality of beverages are as important to the customer as the food
items in their meals. We must make sure that they are received and stored
correctly to maintain the quality and shelf life.

Standards

Inspect Drinks Items on Delivery
• Make sure that all drink items are in good condition on receipt at the unit.

Check items for the following:

• Boxes are not broken
• Syrup boxes are not leaking
• All items are within minimum shelf life on receipt at restaurant
• Syrups - 13 weeks
• Coffee / chocolate mix - 18 weeks

Check items for the following:
• Seals are not broken on soft drinks bottles
• All items are within minimum shelf life on receipt at restaurant
• Soft drink bottles = 13 Weeks
• Soft drink cans = 8 Weeks
• Refuse any damaged or broken items.

Store Drinks Items

Syrup boxes are heavy. Make sure you lift heavy
items correctly, to prevent causing back injuries.


• Stack 10 litre boxes a maximum of 4 high.
• Stack 20 litre boxes a maximum of 3 high
• Store drink powders stock (coffee. tea, chocolate) in a dry, ambient environment
• Store soft drink syrups/bottles at ambient temperature
• Store on a flat shelf.

• Never store heavy items more than 1.5 meters off the floor.
• Store heavy items on lower shelves.


All products must be stored a minimum of 15 centimetres off the floor.
