Introduction to Paper Goods and Smallwares



Paper goods and Smallwares are used to prepare products, and must be
stored correctly to avoid potential cross contamination.
It is also important to make sure that the goods are not damaged on
receipt.

Standards:

Inspect Paper Goods and Smallwares on Delivery


Make sure that items are in sealed packaging, and not damaged in

any way.


Refuse any damaged items by speaking to the Bidvest Delivery Driver


Store items:

1 - Store items appropriately and consider potential cross contamination when storing.



Do not store boxes so that dust / debris can fall on the inside of a box where food will be placed when packaged.

• Never store heavy items more than 1.5 meters off the floor.
• Store heavy items on lower shelves.

All products must be stored a minimum of 15 centimetres off the floor.

2 - When receiving delivery of Smallwares, ensure you wash them in the
dishwasher before use, as they can gather dust when stored at the
warehouse.
